ABC's for Healthy Hair!

Let's learn our ABC's for healthy hair

We know that the consumption of fruits and veggies are beneficial to our health as well as for our beautiful curls. Let's look specifically at the benefits of avocados, bananas and cucumbers for lovely locks.

AVOCADOS are rich in protein, vitamin A, B6, D, E, magnesium, folic acid, copper and iron which promotes hair growth. They also add shine and luster as well as prevent hair loss.



BANANAS are full of potassium, fiber, iron and vitamin B6/B12.  Keeps hair hydrated and healthy. When used on a regular basis, bananas increase moisture, soothe dry/itchy scalp and reduce frizziness.


CUCUMBERS are high in silica, sulfur, vitamin A, C, potassium, manganese, magnesium and chlorophyll.   Silica and sulfur are awesome for hair growth and  vitality.





Combine these big three by blending (in blender for smooth texture and easy application to hair and to reduce chunks being left in hair which is a beast to remove) 1/2 avocado, 1 small banana and 1 juiced cucumber.

Apply mask to hair for 1 hour or even overnight in a plastic shower cap or a handy plastic grocery bag for a luxurious protein treatment.

Oscar winner, Lupita Nyong'o has had an amazing year on the big screen and the red carpet; so landing the July cover of Vogue is the fashion icing on the cake. Her red carpet style has been stellar, from the hot Red caped gown by Ralph Lauren to the princess worthy Nairobi blue gown by Prada. Can't wait to get my copy.

D.I.Y. Lip Scrub

Even though it has been warm and sunny in L.A., it is still winter and the weather can be drying to our bodies in general but more specifically, our lips.

Here is a quick and easy recipe right from your kitchen:

1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of olive oil

Mix in a bowl and apply to lips in a circular motion then remove with a cloth and warm water.
Apply your favorite lip balm; currently I use EOS.

Scrub can also be used on hands, elbows and knees for exfoliation.

Lupita Nyong'o is breathtakingly gorgeous on the Golden Globes red carpet today in a red Ralph Lauren caped gown. Best dressed nominee for Fashion Police tomorrow night, take note Joan Rivers.

"Sex and the City 3"??

SJP and the gang may be bringing us another chapter into their fabulous lives with a "Sex and the City 3" movie; So to all fashionista's, slip on your Loubous and let's head to the box office. Read a tidbit of the interview with InStyle magazine below.

In an interview to InStyle (Feb. 2014) magazine, Parker said that Bradshaw and her friends Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda may be reuniting on the big screen for one last film.

"A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell. But timing is a peculiar thing. It isn't a decision that can wait forever. I don't want to have to wear muumuus!,"

So there you have it!  Let's keep our fingers crossed for this last installment of Sex.
